In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (Or a few!) Tell us what makes it work for you, and why it appeals to you so much. One of my favorite things about fandom is the abundance of delicious, delicious tropes and kinky fic. I love seeing many iterations of the same thing that I love, because no two are the same: different characters, universe, writers and approaches make it all interesting, and that common thread reels me in and keeps me hooked. Maybe the most interesting part of all, for me, is seeing what other people find appealing in the themes that I love, and that’s what this challenge is all about.



I am a Team as Family, AU, crossover, fusion, trope junkie. Now that I think about it all the fandoms I love to read in or play in have that in common.

In Jeeves and Wooster, I think Bertie thinks of Jeeves as a big brother. A big brother whom gets Bertie out of the troubles he gets into.

In The Magnificent Seven tv series, I adore stories of how the seven become a team or how they became a family. I also love all the AU's like the ATF AU, Brothers AU, Las Vegas Chronicles, the Supermagnificent AU...just to name a few of AU's in the Mag 7 fandom I think the 7 fit well into so many worlds and that is why AU's have flourished in the Mag 7 fandom.

I love the team as family fics in Hawaii Five 0(2010), Firefly, Leverage, Castle, Guardians of the Galaxy, Star Trek (all series), Killjoys and The Hobbit. In the Hobbit I also like to read fix-it fics and everyone lives no one dies fics.

Crossovers are fun because I like to see character mingle with each other and fusions allow characters to step into other worlds.



Hope this makes some sense. I have a sinus infection and meds make me a bit loopy, so forgive the long rambling.

I am definitely with you on the Team as Family/Family as Team vibe. Both the 'Me and Thee' (S&H) and 'Never Far Apart' (Pros) duos, and the larger teams/families of M7 and H50. Found Family is very strong in those last two, and I love it!

Found Family is very strong in M7 and H50 and I love it as well. :D Te boys and the task force really are like families to me and I adore reading fic about them.

I love those tropes, too!! I think that I like crossovers/fusions for the same reason I like AUs, seeing our characters in different situations, but having them still be recognizable as Our Characters.

Yes this! That is what I love about crossovers, fusions and AU's having characters in different situation but still recognizable as our characters. I forgot to add I also love fish out of water stories, because they show how our characters would adapt to the situation. Also like canon-divergence fics, for example if one detail is different how does it affect our characters? How do they respond? etc...
