See if you can rec fanworks that are less likely to be praised: tiny fandoms, rare pairings, fanworks other than stories, lesser known kinks or tropes. A wonderful modern AU of Mag 7 which has Vin as an undercover cop, Josiah a preacher, Buck and JD as bounty hunters, Ezra as an owner of a Club, Nathan, a medical student who has had to leave school and Chris an undercover federal agent. Vin is the main focus of the story and it's fabulous.
