How is your writing going?

Thank you for being kind. You are lovely. I look forward to every message and post from you. Please let me know how I can be better friend to you.

That's wonderful that you submitted a short story to a children's magazine. :D
Pom-Pomms**Go You
Thank you for the compliment. You are lovely as well.
You are a friend whom comments and nudges and encourages and I appreciate that very much. Just please keep, nudging and encouraging.
Take care.

It is my pleasure. Is there anything in particular that I can nudge or encourage you about right now?
Also, I made a card for you.
no subject
Thank you for the beautiful card. It is greatly appreciated. :D
You can nudge or encourage me about writing. I have wips in 4 different fandoms that I am working on.
How are you?
Take care.

I would love to encourage you about the 4 WIPs. Would you like to talk about them? I would be happy to cheerlead or listen if you wanted someone to bounce ideas off of. Also, I like talking about stories whether or not I know the fandom.
no subject
Thanks. I would love to talk about them. I would appreciate the cheerleadering or bouncing ideas off of you. Of the 4 wips, I want to finish the two that are gifts for two of my flist. One is for the Magnificent Seven TV series and the other is a Crossing Lines TV Series Season 3 fan fiction. I think I am a fourth way through the Mag 7 story which focuses on two of the seven. I am thinking I need a bit more action in it and not just all dialogue. And the Crossing lines fan fic, I have two different beginnings and I am not quite sure which one I want to use. The fic is set between two of the episodes, so I am going to have to re-watch them to see which would work better.
Usually a snippet or scene will come to me and then I write a story or fic-lit or drabble around that scene or snippet.
The other two stories are a star trek reboot au in which Admiral Pike does not die in Star Trek into Darkness and
Thor Ragnarok AU in which Skurge lives. I love Karl Urban. And so, none of the characters he portrays die in my stories.
Anyway...
Thanks you have helped me clarify some ideas just now. :D :D :D
Take care,
Hugs,

It is so great to hear from you.
I can completely understand making fics for people on your f-list a priority. It sounds like you have an idea of what you need to do already, which puts you in a great position.
Could the two different beginnings that you have for the Crossing Lines story be made into two different stories, or one story seen from two different perspectives?
I have not seen the Thor movie, but I have seen Star Trek into Darkness. I am big original series fan and thought that Pike's death was such a waste! I will make a point of watching the Thor movie soon. I would be most useful with the Star Trek fic, because that is the fandom I am part of. But I really don't mind tossing around ideas for anything.
Take care!
no subject
Thank you. It is great to hear from you too.
I am working on the two stories for my f-list. Thanks for the advice on the fan fiction
of Crossing Lines. It looks like I am going to do two different stories.
I love Star Trek in all of its incarnations. :D. Haven't seen Star Trek Discovery yet though. My sister said she would get me the series for my birthday next month.
Which is your favorite Original Series episode(s)?
I have been re-watching Space Seed and Wrath of Khan and Star Trek 2009 and Star Trek into Darkness for the fan fic I am writing. I too thought Pike's death was a waste. So this ST Into Darkness AU was born. What do you think about me making Admiral Marcus more of the villain and "John Harrison" be John Harrison one of Kahn's followers but not Kahn himself? My fic starts in ST Into Darkness when Harrison blows up the conference of Starfleet officers convening about the London Archives building exploding. In my version, Pike survives the blast but his survival is kept secret because he and some of the other Starfleet officers were already suspecting Marcus of wanting war. How does that sound? What are your thoughts?
Also I hope you enjoy Thor when you see it. I love the connections between the two movie franchises. Chris Hemsworth whom is Thor played George Kirk in Star Trek 2009, Karl Urban whom is McCoy in the Star Trek AOS is Skurge in Thor. Idris Elba is Krall in Star Trek Beyond and Heimdall in Thor.
Made a Spock icon for you.
Take care as well.

In regard to your fic, I would love to see a story where John Harrison was one of the followers rather than Khan himself. I was enraged by the whitewashing of that role. Into Darkness managed to be less progressive in 2013 than Space Seed was in 1967.
So, it sounds like you are writing the fixit fic of my dreams! I can totally see John Harrison as a follower. Also, it makes sense to me that Pike and others might want to lay low after an attempt on their lives. I am so there for this fic!
I am not invested as Marcus as a character one way or another, but I think that someone in a position of a power abusing that power makes for a villain that is both timely and ever-green.
By the way, my top ten favorite episodes of Star Trek: TOS are “Shore Leave”, “The Galileo Seven”, “The Devil in the Dark”, “The City on the Edge of Forever”, “Amok Time”, “Mirror, Mirror”, “Catspaw”, “Journey to Babel”, “Piece of the Action”, and “The Cloud Minders”. The list is in chronological order, and subject to change. ;) (I love being a nerd.)
Thank you so much for the icon! It cheered me up when I needed it.
These are for you:

Sorry I took so long to respond, but catching cold during the summer is not fun. I am a bit better now thank goodness.
Thanks for the congratulations and early birthday well wishes. :D
Wonderful input on my Star Trek AU story.... :), :), :)
Haven't had too much time to work on the stories this past week, but hoping to get some writing done this coming weekend.
You are welcome. I am glad you
Those are wonderful Star Trek episodes and some of my favorites are there too. They are: “The Galileo Seven”, “The Devil in the Dark”, “Amok Time”, “Mirror, Mirror”,“Journey to Babel”, “The Cloud Minders”. I also enjoy "Balance of Terror", and "Space Seed".
You are welcome. Glad the icon cheered you up.
*Squeals in joy* with these three icons you made for me. They are lovely! Thank you
so much for them. I love, love love them. ❤️❤️❤️
How is your writing and creativity going?

Please don’t worry about taking a long time to reply. It happens to everyone. I, for example, have had the brain fuzies. I haven’t been mentally capable of replying sooner.
Still, I am sorry to hear that you have had a cold. I hope that you are feeling better.
Whenever you feel well enough to write, I would be delighted to discuss your works in progress. I even watched “Thor: Ragnarok” so that I can be a better conversation partner. I enjoyed it more than I typically enjoy Marvel movies too!
My own writing has not been going well. Part of that is because of the brain fuzzies and… and depression coupled with anxiety. Also, I am working as a marketing writer for a product that I am not confident about. It isn’t a high-paying or impressive job, but I don’t currently have the energy to find another. I mention this because after spending the day writing for work, it is weird transitioning into writing anything else. I hope I get used to it soon. I’ve only had this job since January, so I think I will adjust.
I’ve been enjoying another creative thing recently though: making icons. These are for you. Please don’t ever feel obliged to use any of them. I just like making them to show I care.
no subject
You are so understanding and sweet.:D
How are you feeling?
I am feeling better from the cold, thank you.
It is slow going on the writing at the moment, though I did add a few sentences to the Star Trek into Darkness AU. I am glad you enjoyed Thor Ragnarok. I have some ideas on how Skurge could live and jotted them down but not anything really concrete yet.
**Pom poms**Cheering you on to adjust in your job and get your writing flowing again.**Pom poms**
You have another wonderfully creative talent with the icon making. They are lovely!
The three of them are beautifully animated. I love looking at them. Thank you for creating these icons for me. I am thrilled!
Created something for you too. To keep my creative juices going I have been playing with graphics and I made the Thranduil soft color graphic below for you.

Thank you so much for the beautiful artwork! I really like muted blue tones. You have a talent for art too.
I am so happy to hear that you are making progress on writing too, even if it is slow progress. If you want to bounce ideas off of me, I would really like that.
Thank you for the cheerleading, it is much appreciated. *hugs, if you like hugs*
For my part, I am still struggling with writing--and everything else--due to depression. However, I recently had a small victory. I was able to write a bit for a fic exchange challenge. One of the two very short fics that I wrote even flowed very easily too.
...I don't mean that the story flowed well. In fact, I think it is a bit too "on rails". But it came out quickly and painlessly. That was encouraging after being so stuck for so long.
And icon creativity continues. I have made more for you.
The sources are Pusheen, an unknown piece of stained glass, and Gudetama. Gudetama is my personal favorite. He is a defiant, lazy wobbly egg yoke with a bad attitude. It is as strange as it sounds.
no subject
You are welcome. Glad you enjoyed the artwork. Thank you.
Thank you again. Slow progress is progress, isn't it? I just get impatient with myself and want to write faster. Bouncing an idea off of you.
And also bouncing a snippet of fic with you.
"Captain Pike's eyes slit open and saw Spock standing by his bed. In the background, he could hear the voices of Jim Kirk and Dr. M'Benga. "A hoarse, "Spock, mind meld." fell from his lips.
Spock gazed at him in shock and a startled, "Captain?" was his reply.
Kirk and Dr M'Benga came up beside Spock flanking him on either side. Dr. M' Benga answered. "Captain Pike wants you to mind meld with him, Mr. Spock. It wont't cause him any more pain than he is in already. I also have lexorin on hand."
Spock and Kirk looked at one another then they both stared at their mentor lying in the bed and whom was giving them a slight nod of the head.
Shakily, Spock put his fingers on the key positions on Captain Pike's head and face. Spock's face hardened as he and Captain Pike mind-melded. Finally, he broke off contact with Pike and both men slumped on the bed.
The doctor injected Captain Pike with the lexorin.
Jim Kirk held Spock up as M'Benga administered the drug to Spock.
After a few minutes, Spock was once again alert and Jim impatiently asked, "Well, what did you see?" "
I wanted to include the mind meld that happened between Spook and Pike in Into Darkness in my fic. Good idea or not? Jim knows a bit about mind melds since Spock Prime mind melded with him and he remembers what he saw. He wants to know what Pike knows about Marcus and Harrison because he has a bad feelng about the two of them. Also have an idea where I want to include the fact that Pike mentored Spock as well as Kirk. That is my head canon for Spock and Pike and I am trying to work it into the fic.
You're welcome. **Yay**for your small victory!
You have a talent for icons. I adore them! Especially the Gudetama one.
Thank you...thank you...
Take care

It was so lovely to see the snippet. I like it a lot. Your headcanon of Pike mentoring Spock as well as Kirk is really appealing. I think you did a great job because even though I know that you intended for Pike to live, I find myself worried about his well-being.
Also, I completely understand about wanting to write more, faster. For me, I find that getting too hung up on that makes me write less. Appreciating that I have at least written something tends to lead to more writing.
I am looking forward to hearing more about your progress. I will be cheering you on!
Best wishes,
Bardsley

Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed the snippet. Pike is going to live but it is touch and go in the beginning of the story. I know Christopher Pike taught at Starfleet Academy. Do you know what he taught? Or what do you think he taught? I have an idea for a flashback in the story , where Spock was a cadet and Captain Pike was his Professor but what class was it?
You're right about the writing. I am writing a little bit at a time which leads to a little more writing the next day.
I love your creativity coming out in icon making, I absolutely love your Star Wars icons. I love the "Let's roll" BB8 and the Hans Solo "Never tell me the odds" icon. The Disney princesses ones are also lovely.
Thank you for the cheerleading. It is appreciated. :D
Best Wishes,
P.S. Very nice and pretty Uhura icon.

Thank you for the kind words about the icons. I'm pleased that your writing is progressing and building on itself.
I'm looking forward to reading the fic you produce, especially the Star Trek story.
I don't know what Pike officially taught at the academy, but I kind of like the idea of Pike teaching history. I think that someone well-versed in history would have the temperament and foresight that he displays.

You are welcome. The writing is coming along.
Thank you. Thank you also for encouraging me and cheering me on.
I like Pike teaching history. That's a good idea. Thanks.
How is your writing going? And how is the icon making?
A little gift for you of Yoda.

I'm delighted to have word from you again so soon! It is my pleasure to talk to you and encourage you. You're enjoyable to spend time with, and I like your ideas. Based on the snippet you showed me, your story is going to blossom into something wonderful.
My own writing is going sporadically, as usual. The weekend before last I wrote an entire chapter! This week, however, I am in my moon. That tends to make me feel weak and cause various mood issues, so no writing this week. I'm just taking it easy.
Except, I am still making icons. I am making so many that I decided to create a dedicated icon journal.
On the topic of icon making, I made some for you.
They are a thank you gift for the beautiful art that you made for me. I love it, and I am so grateful that you took the time to make it for me.
Best wishes,

Thank you for the very nice compliments. You are also enjoyable to spend time with. I also enjoy talking to you and encouraging you too.
How wonderful you were able to write a whole chapter the other week! Go You! Hope you are feeling better.
Yay, an icon journal to which I have subscribed. I am loving your icons. :D Thank you for my beautiful icons you made for me. (Squeals in delight over them.)
Best Wishes to you,

You are welcome. It is a pleasure to create art for you. You are a lovely person with whom it is a joy to speak to.

It’s so wonderful hearing from you. I get the biggest smile of delight when I see that you have commented.
What is new or interesting in your life? Is there anything you want to talk about? How are you expressing yourself creatively these days with art or icon making or another talent that I don’t know about?
To answer my own questions, I am retaking a math class because I like the teacher and this is my idea of recreation. Except the teacher praised me to much the first day, and that seems to have shut my brain off. I keep messing up!
I really liked the snippet of the story you showed me. I would like to read more.
I haven’t really been making icons or writing lately. I have been in a funk. And not doing anything creative just keeps it going, of course. I need to do something about that.
Thank you for subscribing to my icon journal!

Thank you. It is also wonderful hearing from you too. :D
My sister and I are looking into digital scrapbooking. But we are still learning about it. It is interesting because I would like to learn to get some of the photos we have to be paired with certain themes. We want to get one of the photos to fit into an autumn theme so we are learning about the digital scrapbooking. Creativily I made this purple Unicorn collage recently. And I used some of the icons you made for me.
The math class sounds interesting. It sounds like you are good at math. Math has not been my strong suit but I am ok at it.
Another little snippet of the story for you. Out of order time wise from the last snippet. The snippet is further along in the story. My muse flies from one point to another in the story.
"You are dead!" Admiral Marcus screamed as he saw the man sitting in the Captain's chair of the Enterprise.
Christopher Pike glared across the view screen at his former friend. Then a dangerous smile crossed his lips before he spoke, "Am I? I feel pretty spry for a dead man. Admiral Alexander Marcus, You are under arrest for treason against Starfleet and the United Federation of Planets.
A maniacal laugh escapes from Marcus's throat. "You can't arrest me if you can't catch me." He spins around and finds Jim Kirk pointing a phaser at him.
"Don't move Admiral Marcus or I will shoot." Kirk orders.
Marcus is about to respond when his daughter Carol lets out a gasp at the sight outside the ship's view port
A Romulan bird of prey has just decloaked off of the port side of the Enterprise.
End snippet
I have gone through a funk or two myself, so totally understand. Take care of yourself and sending creative energy your way.
You are welcome!

I like your snippet! It gives me a very clear picture of the action. I admire your talent for digital scrapbooking. The picture is beautiful.

Thank you. I haven't done any writing this past week, working on the scrapbooking. My muse also wanted to make you some Gudetama icons for you.

I think it is wonderful that you are creating anything. I've been smacked by inertia and depression lately, so I have not been doing much in the way of creativity.
I love the icons you made for me. You are so kind.

Thank you so much. You are an excellent friend too. I'm so glad that we're in contact. I really appreciate the birthday images too! My birthday always makes me a little sad, but they made me smile.
How are you doing? What's going on with you?

You are welcome. Thank you. Am glad that the birthday images made you smile.
I haven't been doing to well. A few days before Halloween I got the shingles on the left side of my body, including my face, on my temple between my eye and ear. And it has not been fun. Am getting better now.
My siblings have also installed voice activated software on the computer so I can use the computer while I heal.
How are you doing?

It always makes me happy to hear from you. I am so sorry that you have not been feeling well. It's good to hear that you are on the mend.
For my part, I have also not been great. At anything. For reals. Mostly because of me. I suck. I gotta get the suckage under control so that I can write happier messages!
BTW, your siblings sound awesome.

Thank you. I am always happy to hear from you too. I love the teddy bear get well picture. I am on the mend. My siblings have been great with me and thanks I will tell them they sound awesome.
I am sorry that you have not been great.
A little flower icon for you below:

Thank you for making the cheerful flower. The icons and images that you make seem to come when I need a pick-me-up. :)
Mental Health Update: By the way, I have been going to therapy for a few months now. I don't feel like it is doing much to help me so far, but I am trying to make things better. One of the things that I would like to improve is being more present in our online conversation. I feel like I have seemed inattentive, and I feel bad. I have not lost interest. I just have bad brain chemistry.
How is your recovery going? I hope that you feel a lot better.
I looked back over our conversation, and it reminded me that you had four WIP last summer. How are they going? I liked the snippets of the "Star Trek" fic that you shared a lot.
Personally, I've not written much more than a few drabbles lately. I always wonder if I don't write creatively because I am feeling down or if I feel down because I am not writing creatively. There's this wonderful book called If You Want to Write that suggests every person is a creative being, and that not expressing ourselves creatively can have an adverse effect on people's health.
In regard to being creative, how is your scrapbooking going? I love the image that you made for me so much! It is wonderful that you have so many talents.
I wish you the best. Please let me know if there is anything that you feel like chatting about.
By the way, I made some icons for you. I haven't made icons in months, and I am grateful to you for inspiring me to do that.
Also, the most random thing happened. Because I haven't used an image uploading service in so long, I lost forgot the password. When I tried to do the password recovery thing, I ended up finding an account I had more than 10 years ago. *shrug*

You are welcome.😊 Thank you, I love the icons you made for me. They are all gorgeous. I adore them all. 😃😃😃. The Enterprise streaking off into space, Captain Pike(Is he saying Punch It!?) Pegasus flapping his black wings and then the last one where he is walking in sunlight.(All for me, thank you!) That is random about finding an account you had more than 10 years ago.
You are very attentive and present with our online conversation. I think I have to improve on being attentive to it. My brother became ill with bronchitis and I had a slight set back with my health because I was worried about his. We are both mending and I will strive to be more present with you my online friend. Thank you for asking.
As for my WIPS, I finished the two stories for my friends and sent the stories off to them. I am still adding to the Star Trek story you have read snippets of but it is coming in bits and pieces right now. The other story has been put on the back burner until next year.
"If You Want to Write" sounds interesting. I would like to read it. My sister is the one doing the digital scrapbooking right now. I did help her with one that we are sending to our aunt and cousins for the holidays.
You are talented as well, I really enjoy your icons and I loove the story you wrote about Spock. I wanted to ask if it was okay to download it so I could read it offline?
If they have the Snowflake Challenge next year, I think I will participate again, do you think you are going to?
I wish you all the best.
no subject
Happy Holidays! I am glad that you liked the icons. I had fun making them for you. Pike is, indeed, saying, "Punch it."
Don't worry about being present. I get too much into my own head sometimes and worry too much. I just want you to know I am around and I care.
Also, please feel free to anything you like with my fic. I would be so flattered.
In other fandom things, I am totally planning on doing Snowflake again this year.

I am sorry I haven't answered. 2018 finished with the shingles and 2019 started with me spraining my elbow. It is still painful to move it but getting better. So I haven't been on the internet in about a month.
Thank you for caring and being around. It is greatly appreciated. I love your icons and yay for Pile saying "Punch it."
I missed doing Snowflake this year.
Ho are you?

Don't worry about needing to take your time. I'm always happy to hear from you when you get a chance. I am so sorry that you have been under the weather. I hope things are looking up.
How I am doing is more of a loaded question than usual. Short version, life got complicated as life tends to do. If you wanna know details, I don't mind sharing.
But I am grateful that I can still go online and spend time with awesome people like you. In spite of 2019 starting out with challenges, I hope it turns into a great year.

Thank you. I am sorry for disappearing. I was diagnosed with Lupus that affected my skin with rashes on my arm and back. I am getting treatment for it but it threw me into a emotional up and down loop.
I am coming out of it though and your thinking of me helps.

You help me too. The quote of "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud." by Maya Angelou. reminds me of you.
You are a rainbow in my cloud. My life has been a cloud this year and you one of my rainbows. Thank you.
You brought back a bit of my creativity too. It had been drained with everything going on.

I cannot thank you enough. I relate so strongly to what you have written. The past couple of years have been fairly cloudy to me. You have been a rainbow for me too.
I would love to do more to encourage creativity in you. Please feel free to talk to me about any writing or art projects.
