The world had gone quiet and still.

Danny Williams had always hated quiet. It meant something was wrong — a lull before the next gunfight, the split second before a perp made a run for it, the breath he’d always held before bad news. Stiles nodded, unable to speak, a knot of dread tightening in his stomach. He could feel Szymon's breath on his skin, warm and damp.

"Good," Szymon whispered. "That's a good boy." He squeezed Stiles' shoulder, a pressure that was both reassuring and threatening. Then he stood up, the mattress springing back. "Get some sleep."

He walked to the door, pausing to look back. "Remember, Stiles. I'm here for you. For anything."

The door clicked shut, and Stiles was alone in the moonlight again. But the peace was gone, replaced by a cold dread that settled deep in his bones. He didn't move for a long time, just stared at the door, listening to the silence.

He knew, with a certainty that chilled him to the core, that things had just gotten much, much worse.

Kirk/Spock Genderbend, mpreg search

Hi! I'm going crazy trying to find this, I'm pretty sure it was on a03, but could be wrong it's been a long while since I read it. But it's a Kirk/Spock where Kirk was in high school in Riverside and somehow became a girl due to a school experiment or something gone wrong, Spock and the family were either passing through or was staying near and he and Kirk got together while he was female. Spock and the family left, without knowing Jim was pregnant. Later Pike recruits Kirk, I think he was working at the bar or something and he asks Kirk why he hasn't gone to the academy or something similar, and Kirk replies his son that he couldn't leave him. Pike gets it so Kirk and his son can go to the academy. I do believe Uhura realizes his son is half Vulcan on the shuttle ride, and I think Bones becomes close and protective to the two of them.

It's not the one where they have help from an elderly neighbor who drives them to the shipyard. But that one was awesome.

“We don’t have to talk about it.”

Derek gives him a withering look. “Really? We’re—doing this and you don’t think we should talk about it?”

“We were kids,” Stiles dismisses.

“I was horrible,” Derek practically snarls, face twisted up in disgust. “I was—” He seems to flounder for a second while he finds the right word. “—struggling, and I used you—”

“I let you,” Stiles assures him. “I wanted you to use me. Trust me, I don’t regret it.”

“You probably should,” Derek says. “You should regret it and you should hate me for it.”

“Lots of people have way more traumatizing first boyfriends,” Stiles says. “And it was over ten years ago—it’s a memory. It doesn’t haunt me or anything. I actually—I have good feelings about most of my memories of you.” And the bad feelings are guilt and regret that he didn’t do more to help Derek. So hatred isn’t really on the list.
